Seaside Elopement: Maite + Stew
2020… the worst year of most of our lives. For me, I know it was. But some people - despite losing dream wedding days, jobs, or missing family from across the world - chose to get married anyway!
This was a big deal for me… my few clients who got married in 2020… even those few weddings gave me sense of normalcy and peace I hadn’t felt all year. This was my first wedding of 2020, and it wasn’t until the end of August, which is later than I’ve ever started a season (and hopefully the latest I ever start a season!). These two were suppose to have a different wedding, but living overseas in Covid times prevented any of that. I only met them by chance, a sad situation for another photographer led me to photographing their elopement with family.
It was a beautiful lunch time wedding overlooking the ocean on a beautiful but windy day. It was the first time I’d photographed a wedding in almost a year at that point, and it couldn’t have been more beautiful even with 10 people.
